Watermelon is a great first solid food for baby, as we recently discovered at a family cookout. I gave Buttercup a few delicious cubes as the other kids (22 months and older) were eating. I was very proud of her ability to self-feed like a big girl!
Did you know that watermelon is the leader in lycopene content among fresh fruits and vegetables? It's also high in vitamins C, A, B6 and potassium. Who knew? I always just thought it was water and sugar.
PROS: good consistency
CONS: very drippy
That's good to know! I thought tomatoes had the highest lycopene.
