Water - in a shot glass

baby drinking waterAlthough we've had pretty good success with our previous method of water-drinking (see here), we decided to try having Buttercup drink out of a shot glass. As strange as it is to think about my baby girl drinking out of a shot glass (especially one that has a piƱa colada recipe on it), it seemed like a good idea so I tried it. It was so much easier for Buttercup that I think we'll stick with this method for the time being. Her little lips seemed to seal around the shot glass easier than with the plastic cup we'd been using. And her hands could wrap around it, too.

Try it, you'll like it!

  1. Do you give her tap water?

I have just started BLS with my 6-month old boy this week. The only water he's had has been in the form of ice cubes and I am not too paranoid about tap, just curious. I will try the shot glass method too soon as I want to avoid sippy cups as well. He hasn't taken to a bottle AT ALL (a bit problematic on the few occasions I have had to work).

Have you given her any expressed breast milk from a glass?

Really enjoying your blog. It's a great resource. Pardon me if I am asking questions you have already written about - I am working through the weeks from the beginning!
